Namaste

I lay here, watching you

You’re sleeping

Your breathing makes a hummmmmm

 I bask in it

Smell is familiar

Warm and comforting

Arms hold me tight

During the inhale everything buzzzzzzzes

Because you are more than familiarity

More than comfort

Destiny is more like it

There is a sense of belonging that seems ancient even

An inviting love exchange written long before our time

Brass and brazen on an old scroll of parchment

Could it be what was meant for men and women?

Perhaps a connection much like Adam and Eve’s?

Or maybe it is the way one feels when a partner is found

One that makes you mutter “Namaste” after each kiss

So in turn

I lay here, watching you

Experiencing more than familiarity

More than comfort

Muttering Namaste

And I bask in it
